Stonepeak Ceramics opens new production line in Tennessee location

Crossville, TN - Stonepeak Ceramics, part of the Italian holding Iris Ceramica Group, and headquartered in Chicago, IL, announces the opening of its new production line located in their Crossville, TN facility. The total investment of $70 million increases the factory’s capacity by 20% and makes Stonepeak Ceramics the first tile manufacturer in the United States to produce large size porcelain panels, also known as gauged panels.

Equipped with the newest technological features, the line produces tiles ranging from 6mm to 2cm in thickness and is the only production line in the world capable to produce porcelain tiles starting from the large size 120”x 60” to the smaller size 12”x12”. These superior abilities allow Stonepeak to better respond to the needs of both commercial and residential installation projects.

Since the very beginning, Stonepeak Ceramics has been at the forefront of sustainability practices and production transparency. From the closed-loop manufacturing cycle, to the inclusion of recycled materials, the new line brings the product to an even greater level of sustainability by reducing the transportation footprint and better use of energy efficiencies.

“The opening of the new production line represents an important investment for our company. It is part of the strategic decision we made to mature as a global product supplier in this rapidly growing market segment,” said Federica Minozzi, CEO of Iris Ceramica Group. “By offering large size panels, made in the USA, we will shorten delivery times and simplify all over logistics while reducing the environmental impact,” she added.

Stonepeak Ceramics will be hosting a grand opening event on September 12, 2018 with city and state officials, company executives and some of their key clients.
