CARBON FOOTPRINT

ABOUT ISO 14064-1

What Is The Organizational Carbon Footprint Validation?

The Organizational Carbon Footprint Validation (ISO 14064-1) is a globally recognized standard by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It provides a robust framework for measuring, monitoring, and verifying greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that fully encompasses the entire organization’s efforts, down to our products, our company practices, and even our employees. This standard ensures meaningful contributions to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Stonepeak Organizational Carbon Footprint Validation

Why Earn ISO 14064-1?

This validation is a voluntary 360-degree assessment of the climate footprint of our entire U.S. organization, encompassing the entirety of our operation – logistics, manufacturing, product life cycles and any indirect contributions associated with our company’s activities, such as business travel and employee commuting. Achieving this verification reflects Stonepeak’s sincere commitment to transparency, accountability, and adherence to the highest environmental standards.

How Hard Is It To Achieve?

Earning ISO 14064-1 validation is no easy feat — it requires a meticulous, multi-step process, including the development of a comprehensive greenhouse gas inventory and rigorous third-party data verification. Stonepeak worked diligently to meet these stringent international standards, demonstrating the company’s commitment to sustainable innovation and operational excellence.

What Does This Mean For Stonepeak?

This accomplishment joins a portfolio of prestigious green certifications, including Declare, LEED, ISO 9001, GreenGuard, GreenGuard Gold, GreenSquared and EPD. Together, these achievements position Stonepeak as a trusted partner for customers and stakeholders who value sustainability, quality, and responsibility. Stonepeak remains committed to sustainability and driving innovation to deliver eco-friendly solutions that inspire positive change across the ceramics industry.

H2 Factory

H2 FACTORY™® – A GLOBAL IMPACT

Parent company of Stonepeak Ceramics, Iris Ceramica Group, and Edison Next have partnered to develop the first Green-Hydrogen powered ceramic slab factory, H2 Factory™®. This new facility will entirely use green hydrogen, powered by renewable energy and produced using a pioneering, bespoke system and will manufacture large full-body technical porcelain surfaces in thicknesses 20mm and 12mm.
This innovation marks the first project for the decarbonization of the ceramic industry and will significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions, saving around 900 tonnes of CO2 per year, and eventually, achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.

THE CREATION OF THE FIRST SLAB

In July 2024, Iris Ceramica Group and Edison Next accomplished the creation of the world’s first ceramic slab using a blend of green hydrogen and natural gas thanks to H2 Factory™®.
The slab produced is 126″ long, 63″ wide and 12 mm thick, and stands out for its four dimensions – thus the name 4D Ceramics – in which, in addition to the three-dimensionality of the material and its grains, crossing the whole thickness of the slab, we find the fourth dimension: sustainability.
